Anthony Anaxagorou ‘combines the poet’s trained eye for incongruity with a relentless search for
knowledge’. Witty and wide-ranging. Heritage Aesthetics draws from Anthony’s family’s migratory
histories – between Cyprus and the UK – to interrogate patriarchy, xenophobia and national divides.
Anaxagorou unpacks the travelogues of colonial writers and military men alongside experiences of
racism in the present. His previous collection After the Formalities was shortlisted for the T.S Eliot and Ledbury Munthe Poetry Prizes. Comic Timing, Holly Pester’s extraordinary debut collection,
which was shortlisted for a Forward Prize, chronicles the experience of living and working as a
radical and resistant act. It tackles marginal bodies, landlords, bog butter, desire, domestic and civil
spaces with a unique voice and wry humour. Holly Pester has worked in sound art and performance,
with BBC Radio, Women’s Art Library and Wellcome Collection. Hosted by Ledbury Critic Joanna Lee.
