A madcap trip through the poetry and music of English madrigals composed and sung in the final
decade of the 16th Century. The Elizabethan court was a treasury of Renaissance poetry and music,
when courtiers vied for the attention of their queen and each other; Shakespeare’s first twenty-one
plays were presented on the London Stage; and Spain sent not one, but two great Armadas against
England. Featuring verses by John Dowland, Thomas Morley, Thomas Ford and Emma Bunton and
sung by The Ledbury Singers, Ledbury’s own a cappella ensemble of seventeen.
